Meet the Smurfs, tiny blue creatures who spend their mostly peaceful days in a far-off village and away from evil wizard, Gargamel. Gargamel creates an enticing Smurfette to lure the Smurfs into his castle, but his plan backfires. With Papa Smurf gone, Brainy starts appointing Smurfs to carry out his orders.
Tired of Jokey's antics, the other Smurfs decide to pull pranks on him. Papa Smurf magically creates a space fantasy to help make Dreamy's birthday wish to fly to the stars come true. Papa Smurf needs the Smurfs to gather glowberries for his invisibility potion so they can all hide from Gargamel. Gargamel creates the legend of Sorcerer Smurf as a trap for Papa and his friends. A "meanie genie" refuses to grant the Smurfs their wishes.
When Hefty and Lazy dump Papa Smurf's potion into a ravine, a giant, flying monster wreaks havoc on the village. Hogatha loses her locket and persuades Gargamel to help find it.
Carpenter Smurf gives Smurfette a pair of rose-colored glasses that tricks her into the clutches of Gargamel. Clumsy Smurf brings a puffy creature back to Smurf Village. Gargamel attempts to capture a group of Smurfs to make gold. With all the Smurfs competing for Smurfette's attention, Gargamel puts a spell on her to help him capture the Smurfs. When bad luck invades the Smurf Village, Smurfs are needed to perform a magical dance.
Magical music makes the Smurfs fall into a deep sleep. The Smurfs find a special egg that grants their wishes -- and causes chaos. Brainy attempts to get respect by building brawn and taking on Bigmouth. An evil imp gives Smurfette dancing shoes and then tricks her into promising she'll marry him. Hogatha transforms into a Smurf to take revenge on the little blue creatures. Gargamel accidentally turns himself into a baby Smurf.
Sir Hefty discovers a wayward knight to help him defeat a dragon whose fire is threatening to destroy the forest. The Smurfs trek to a faraway castle for shelter during the winter. When a fly starts turning the Smurfs purple, Papa Smurf races to find a cure. Clumsy Smurf and Smurfette are captured by the evil Bombast, who plans to exhibit them in an amusement park -- until Old Smurf comes to the rescue.
Papa Smurf creates a formula that accidentally turns Hefty into a giant Smurf. Handy draws up an invention to control the weather. Because they feel unappreciated, Poet and Painter leave Smurf Village and head for Storm Island, unaware that Gargamel is planning to trap them.
